Title: Spicy Apple Crisp

Yield: 6 Servings

4cPeeled and sliced apples - (cooking type)
1tbLemon juice
1/3cSifted all-purpose flour
1cQuaker Oats, uncooked - (quick or old-fashioned)
1/2cBrown sugar, firmly packed
1/2tsSalt
1tsCinnamon
1/3cButter or margarine; melted

Place apples in a shallow dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine flour, oats, sugar, salt, cinnamon and butter, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples. Bake in preheated moderate oven (375 F.) about 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or cold with cream or ice cream.

SPICY PEACH CRISP: Use 4 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches in place of the apples in above recipe. If peaches are tart, sweeten slightly. Prepare and bake as directed above.
